Every ten years, following the U.S. Census, the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District updates its division boundaries to ensure fair and equal representation. Redistricting uses population data to align each division with roughly the same number of residents while respecting community integrity and geographic considerations. This process ensures that all residents have an equal voice in electing the District’s Board of Directors.

Community participation is an essential part of redistricting. The District held multiple public hearings to share draft maps, gather input, and encourage feedback from residents, local organizations, and stakeholders. These meetings provided opportunities to ask questions, recommend changes, and help shape the final boundary maps adopted by the Board of Directors.

As part of the redistricting process, the District prepared draft maps showing potential adjustments to division boundaries. These maps were shared with the public for review and comment, allowing residents to see proposed changes and provide input before the Board adopted final boundaries.
